6. Skalar: AI-first Kanzlei mit individuellem Festpreis

- Was steckt im Preis?

Accounting Software with an Integrated Tax Advisor: Provider Comparison 2026
Accounting software with an integrated tax advisor: boring.tax offers both in the same account, with its own tax advisory firm.
The software does the bookkeeping, but who signs the annual financial statements in the end? And who is liable if something goes wrong? At boring.tax, the in-house boring.tax Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH (in individual cases a partner firm) is liable, with 4 million EUR of professional liability coverage, but only in the booked full package “With firm + tax advisor” from 335 EUR/month. The software tier “Without firm” starts at 60 EUR/month and includes no tax advice and no annual financial statements. This comparison sorts eleven providers in ten entries (Fideus and Resolvio share one section) by model, liability, price and scope. All provider details come from the respective websites (as of October 2026), and prices are net.

What is accounting software with an integrated tax advisor?
Accounting software with an integrated tax advisor is an offering where you handle day-to-day bookkeeping in software and a licensed tax advisor takes care of the annual financial statements, tax returns or advice on the same platform. What matters is not the software but who performs the reserved tax services.
Providing tax advice is regulated in Germany. Who may do so on a professional basis is set out in § 3 of the Tax Advisory Act (StBerG). Pure software is not among them. Unauthorized professional tax advice is prohibited under § 5 StBerG; supervision of the professionals lies with the tax advisor chambers.
Publication of the annual financial statements in the Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger) follows § 325 HGB: no later than one year after the balance sheet date. The electronic submission of the balance sheet to the tax office is governed by § 5b EStG (E-Bilanz). These are the tasks where a licensed professional comes into play.
What four models exist, and who is liable?
The four models of accounting software with a tax advisor differ mainly in who holds the engagement.
- Software with its own tax advisory firm: Software and tax firm belong together, one contract per tier, one account (boring.tax).
- Software with a partner or independent tax advisor: The software company does not provide advice itself; the professional is your contract partner (Mika, Norman, OnlineBilanz).
- Firm with its own platform: The firm or company provides bookkeeping and advice itself (Integral, Skalar, bsteuern).
- DIY software plus your own firm: You do the bookkeeping yourself and find a firm externally (sevDesk, Lexware Office).
Holding specialists like Fideus and Resolvio work with partner firms. Resolvio covers only the holding annual financial statements including tax returns, while Fideus also offers ongoing bookkeeping and VAT returns (UStVA) in its “Operating company” plan.
1. boring.tax: in-house, liable tax firm in the same account
The platform for accounting and taxes for GmbHs and UGs combines AI bookkeeping with a tier you choose freely. Receipts arrive via WhatsApp, email, upload or Qonto, and the bank connection runs through finAPI. The VAT return (UStVA) is submitted directly to ELSTER (own manufacturer ID). Nothing goes to the tax office without your approval, and the data is stored in Germany. Over 330 companies pay for the platform (as of August 2026).
- Features: AI bookkeeping, BWA (management accounts), SuSa (trial balance), P&L, VAT return (UStVA), invoices and dunning, payments with approval, payroll portal.
- Strengths: in-house tax advisory firm in the same account; public fixed price with a price calculator; switching tiers without migrating data; 14-day trial without a credit card and without a sales call; holding and operating GmbH from one source.
- Weaknesses: young company; the annual financial statements directly in the platform are announced but not live (the tax advisory team prepares them); not for sole proprietors and freelancers (cash-basis accounting); above 1 million EUR revenue only on an individual basis; for a very small booking volume there is cheaper pure software.
- Prices (as of Sept. 25, 2026): “Without firm” (software + AI agent) 60 EUR/month or 600 EUR/year, without tax advice and without annual financial statements. “With boring accountants” 100/200/300/400 EUR/month. Full package “With firm + tax advisor” 335/520/705/890 EUR/month at revenue up to 100,000/250,000/500,000/1 million EUR, including VAT return submission, annual financial statements, E-Bilanz, publication, corporate income tax and trade tax returns, and advice. Holding 500 EUR/year plus 100 EUR per additional shareholding. Payroll 20 EUR per employee and month.
- Best for: owner-managed GmbHs and UGs without a finance department, especially tech/SaaS, consultancies and agencies, along with their holdings.
You can find the details on the pricing page with calculator. On the software tier, you prepare the VAT return in boring and submit it yourself; in the full package, the tax advisory team handles it. With the full package you receive two invoices: one from boring, one from the tax firm.
2. Mika: AI bookkeeping, tax advice only in the partner plan
According to its website (as of Oct. 14, 2026), Get Mika GmbH (Berlin) targets GmbHs or UGs with up to 30 employees and fewer than 500 transactions per month. The price depends on bank transactions and adjusts automatically if you exceed the limit.
- Features: AI bookkeeping; in the plan with annual financial statements, you prepare the P&L, E-Bilanz, and corporate income tax, trade tax and VAT returns with the software yourself and submit them yourself.
- Strengths: low entry price at small volume; clear pricing model based on transactions.
- Weaknesses: According to its terms, Mika does not provide tax advice; a partner tax advisor is only available in the all-inclusive plan, whose price is available only on request. The financial statement plans apply only up to 150 transactions. Notice period of 3 months to the end of the month.
- Prices: “Accounting” from 49 EUR/month; “Accounting and annual financial statements” 99 EUR (up to 25 transactions), 199 EUR (up to 50), 549 EUR (up to 150) per month, with no public financial statement plans above that; all-inclusive with partner tax advisor only on request; advice 150 EUR per hour.
- Best for: small GmbHs with few transactions that want to handle the financial statements themselves.
- Difference from #1: At small volume, Mika is cheaper. #1 has the tax firm as its own company in the same account and a fixed price up to the full package.
Is Mika a tax advisor or just software? Mika is software. According to its terms (as of October 2026), the company itself does not provide tax advice.
3. Norman: app with an independent tax advisor per filing
According to its website (as of Oct. 26, 2026), Norman AI GmbH (Berlin) offers an AI bookkeeping app for self-employed people as well as GmbHs and UGs. Norman does not provide tax advice itself: an independent tax advisor licensed under § 3 StBerG signs off on each filing.
- Features: BWA (management accounts), DATEV export, VAT return (UStVA), corporate income tax and trade tax returns, annual financial statements with E-Bilanz (Max plan); the software prepares the balance sheet and P&L, and you review them.
- Strengths: very cheap software plans; separate tax advice can be added.
- Weaknesses: According to its terms, you remain responsible for the accuracy of your information; for publication you upload the PDF yourself; tax advice for corporations only for the first filing (new incorporations).
- Prices (plus VAT): Software 0 EUR, Pro 9 EUR, Max 39 EUR per month with annual payment (otherwise 12 and 52 EUR). Tax advice with monthly payment: non-operating holding 39 EUR, UG/GmbH Start 99 EUR, Pro 199 EUR, Max 299 EUR per month.
- Best for: new incorporations that want to start cheaply and keep software and filing separate.
- Difference from #1: At Norman, the engagement lies with the independent professional; #1 offers the tax firm as its own company in the same account, not just for the first filing.
4. OnlineBilanz: AI draft, review by a licensed professional
According to its website (as of Oct. 26, 2026), OnlineBilanz (Stuttgart) uses software to create an AI-assisted draft. The commissioned tax advisor reviews and files it. Engagements exist exclusively between you and the licensed professional; the legal notice names, among others, DüsselTAX Steuerberatung GmbH.
- Strengths: price per financial year instead of a subscription (from 499.95 EUR, depending on legal form, revenue, receipt volume and approval model), no upfront payment, no minimum term.
- Weaknesses: third-party fees may apply; OnlineBilanz does not state an amount on its website for holdings or monthly bookkeeping.

Which criteria decide the choice?
Five criteria separate the providers most sharply:
- Who is liable? Ask who the contract partner is for the annual financial statements and tax returns, and about the liability coverage.
- Public price: Is the price fixed without a call, or is there only an individual quote?
- What is included in the price? Check annual financial statements, E-Bilanz, corporate income and trade tax, publication and payroll individually.
- Tiers without migrating data: Can you add accountants or tax advice later without exporting your data?
- Who is it built for? Legal form, revenue, transactions, holding or operating company.
How does boring.tax do? Good on 1 to 4: a liable in-house tax advisory firm, fixed prices in the calculator, clearly stated scope per tier, tier switching in the same account. Honestly limited on 5: no sole proprietors and freelancers, above 1 million EUR revenue only on an individual basis. For the contract term, the information on the pricing page applies; check it before signing up.
Example: A GmbH with 250,000 EUR revenue pays 520 EUR/month in the full package, so 6,240 EUR net per year, including VAT return, annual financial statements, E-Bilanz, publication, corporate income tax and trade tax returns, and advice. If you don’t need the firm at first, you start for 600 EUR/year on the software tier and add it later. When comparing with traditional firms, it’s worth a look at our article on the traditional tax advisor or a digital firm and the guide to online tax advisors with fixed prices. FAQ
Accounting software with an integrated tax advisor: which providers are there? There are four models: software with its own tax advisory firm (boring.tax), software with a partner tax advisor (Mika, Norman, OnlineBilanz), firms with their own platform (Integral, Skalar, bsteuern) and DIY software plus an external firm (sevDesk, Lexware Office). Holding specialists like Fideus and Resolvio work with partner firms.
Which AI bookkeeping for GmbHs comes with a real tax advisor who is liable? At boring.tax, the in-house boring.tax Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH is liable, with 4 million EUR of professional liability coverage, if you choose the full package. At Mika, a partner tax advisor is only available in the all-inclusive plan on request. At Norman, an independent tax advisor signs off on the filing, and according to the terms, liability for your information stays with you. The software tier without a firm includes no tax advice (as of October 2026).
Can I add a tax advisor later without migrating data, and when is the upgrade worthwhile? Yes, the platform with its own tax advisory firm allows switching tiers in the same account without data migration. The upgrade is worthwhile at the latest when you need annual financial statements, an E-Bilanz or a corporate income and trade tax return: the software tier “Without firm” costs from 60 EUR/month and includes neither tax advice nor annual financial statements, while the in-house tax firm with these services comes with the full package “With firm + tax advisor” from 335 EUR/month (for holdings in the holding package at 500 EUR/year). The full package starts at revenue up to 100,000 EUR (as of Sept. 25, 2026) and goes up to 890 EUR/month at revenue up to 1 million EUR; you see the fixed price upfront in the price calculator. With DIY software like sevDesk and Lexware Office, the path to a firm usually runs through a data export, for example to DATEV.
Is Mika a tax advisor or just software? Mika is software. According to its terms (as of October 2026), Mika does not provide tax advice; a partner tax advisor is only included in the all-inclusive plan on request.
Which online accounting lets real accountants review the bookings? The “With boring accountants” tier costs from 100 EUR/month at revenue up to 100,000 EUR and provides a reviewed monthly close by humans. There, you submit the VAT return yourself. At Integral, Skalar and bsteuern, the firm handles the bookkeeping, at bsteuern only in the all-round service.
