Was kostet ein Jahresabschluss beim Steuerberater?
Laufende Buchhaltung kommt oft extra.
10. Skalar: AI-first Kanzlei für größere Umsätze
| Anbieter | Preis (netto, laut Website, Stand 14.10. bzw. 26.10.2026) | Jahrespreis netto (Beispiel 250.000 EUR Umsatz bzw. Einstiegsstufe) | Nur Abschluss oder mit Buchhaltung? | Steuererklärungen, E-Bilanz, Offenlegung | Wer haftet / reicht ein |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| boring.tax Gesamtpaket | 335 bis 890 EUR/Monat nach Umsatz | 6.240 EUR (520 EUR/Monat) | Buchhaltung + Abschluss | ja, inklusive | eigene Steuerberatungsgesellschaft, 4 Mio. EUR Haftpflicht |
Zwei Beispiele
Dein Steuerberater hat keine Kapazität: Was jetzt?
Belege rein. Abschluss raus. So soll Steuer sein: boring.

Annual Financial Statements for a GmbH: 2026 Costs and Fixed-Price Providers Compared
An open deadline, no financial statements, and your tax advisor “unfortunately has no capacity.” That is the situation many managing directors are in right now.
In 2026, annual financial statements for a GmbH cost from 250 EUR net at online providers (software only, no tax advice) or from 499.95 EUR net (with review and filing by a tax advisor, including tax returns, E-Bilanz and publication). Traditional firms bill according to the StBVV (the German tax advisor fee ordinance).
We compared the public prices of ten options (as of October 2026). For ongoing bookkeeping plus annual financial statements from a single source, boring.tax has one concrete distinction: its own liable tax advisory firm, boring.tax Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH, works in the same account (in individual cases a partner firm). The full package “With firm + tax advisor” costs 335 to 890 EUR per month, includes 4 million EUR of professional liability coverage, and you can test it for 14 days without a credit card. This article shows what each price really covers, works through two examples and lists the 2026 deadlines.
What are annual financial statements for a GmbH?
The annual financial statements of a GmbH consist of a balance sheet, a profit and loss statement (P&L) and, except for micro-entities, notes to the accounts; small companies do not need a management report. The managing directors prepare and publish them.
Tax returns (corporate income tax, trade tax, VAT) and the E-Bilanz for the tax office usually follow. Whether these are included in the price determines whether two offers are comparable.
What do annual financial statements cost at a tax advisor?
There is no standard price at a tax advisor: they bill under the Steuerberatervergütungsverordnung (StBVV). You can find the ordinance at gesetze-im-internet.de.
It sets fee ranges based on an object value. For preparing annual financial statements under § 35 StBVV, this is a value-based fee that essentially depends on total assets and operating output. The firm chooses the rate within the range, and expenses and VAT are added.
Nobody can responsibly name a concrete euro amount for “the” annual financial statements without knowing your numbers. Expect separate billing for the financial statements, tax returns, E-Bilanz and publication. Ongoing bookkeeping often costs extra.
Capacity is the second problem. According to the STAX 2024 of the German Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors (Allensbach, reference year 2023, n = 5,815), 59.1% of open positions in sole-practitioner firms went unfilled (2018: 35.9%). The average age of licensed professionals is 53.7 years according to the BStBK professional statistics (as of Jan 1, 2026). There is no official or chamber figure for how many firms are turning away new clients.
Who offers annual financial statements at a fixed price?
There are ten relevant options, from pure financial statement tools to full packages with bookkeeping. All prices are net; jahresabschluss.io shows prices without VAT (§ 19 UStG), while VAT is added for the other providers. The details come from each provider’s pricing page or website, as of the date given in each section (Oct 14, 2026 or Oct 26, 2026); we deliberately do not link to competitors.
1. boring.tax: bookkeeping and annual financial statements in one account
The platform for bookkeeping and taxes for GmbHs and UGs: the AI books, you choose the tier, and in the full package boring.tax Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH (in individual cases a partner firm) prepares the financial statements.
- Tiers: “Without firm” 60 EUR/month (software + AI agent, without tax advice and without annual financial statements). “With boring accountants” 100 to 400 EUR/month. Full package “With firm + tax advisor” 335 / 520 / 705 / 890 EUR/month for revenue up to 100,000 / 250,000 / 500,000 / 1 million EUR.
- In the full package: VAT return (UStVA), annual financial statements, E-Bilanz, publication, corporate and trade tax, and advice. The tax advisory team submits the UStVA directly to ELSTER. The invoice comes in two parts (platform and tax firm).
- Holding: 500 EUR/year, +100 EUR per additional shareholding (maximum 50 bookings per year, no operating business).
- Strengths: public price calculator, tier changes without data migration, approval before every submission to the tax office, data in Germany, over 330 paying companies (as of August 2026).
- Limits: Annual financial statements directly in the platform are announced but not live yet; the tax advisory team prepares the statements. Not for sole proprietors and freelancers. If you only need one set of financial statements per year, pure financial statement providers cost less.
Best for: owner-managed GmbHs and UGs without a finance department that want bookkeeping and financial statements from a single source.
2. OnlineBilanz: affordable financial statements, reviewed by a tax advisor
A portal for bookkeeping, annual financial statements and tax returns in which the software creates an AI-assisted draft. The commissioned tax advisor reviews and files. According to the OnlineBilanz website (as of Oct 26, 2026), the financial statements cost from 499.95 EUR per financial year for dormant and small companies, including balance sheet, P&L, notes, tax returns, E-Bilanz and publication. The opening balance sheet for a GmbH starts at 199.95 EUR. Price factors are legal form, revenue size, document volume and approval model; third-party fees may be added. No prepayment, no minimum term.
OnlineBilanz itself provides no tax or legal advice; the engagement exists exclusively with the licensed professional. Difference from the full package: OnlineBilanz does not state a price for holdings or monthly bookkeeping on its website.
3. bsteuern: digital tax advice with a monthly price
bsteuern GmbH (Berlin) offers three packages for GmbH, UG and AG as a professional practice company: Selbststarter from 299 EUR, Vorsorge from 359 EUR, Rundumservice from 449 EUR per month (according to the bsteuern pricing page, as of Oct 26, 2026). Annual financial statements, corporate tax, trade tax and VAT returns, E-Bilanz and publication are always included. The firm books your receipts only in the Rundumservice; payroll and managing director salary are not part of the fixed price. For non-operating holdings, the pricing page lists a Holding package for 65 EUR. On top of that come 399 EUR one-time onboarding and a 12-month minimum term; cancellation requires one month’s notice before the end of the term.
Difference from the full package: The price rises with transactions and annual revenue, and the term is fixed.
4. jahresabschluss.io: software for the finished financial statements
Cloud software that uses AI to create the HGB financial statements from the trial balance. According to the jahresabschluss.io pricing page (as of Oct 26, 2026), the first set of financial statements is free, and each additional one costs 250 EUR (Micro, Kleinst) or 500 EUR (Klein) per financial year. The E-Bilanz costs 20 EUR on its own, direct filing of corporate or trade tax 50 EUR each. A full package with bookkeeping, tax returns and one set of financial statements per 12 months costs 75 EUR (Micro), 125 EUR (Kleinst) or 150 EUR (Klein) per month. Prices are shown without VAT (§ 19 UStG). You can test it free for 7 days; the Micro tier has a minimum term of 12 months.
The software provides no tax advice; professional assessment remains with you or your tax advisor. Difference from the full package: There is no liable firm in the same account.
5. Norman: affordable software, filing with an advisor
According to the Norman pricing page (as of Oct 26, 2026), the AI bookkeeping app for corporations costs 39 EUR per month in the “Max” tier with annual payment (otherwise 52 EUR). It covers UStVA, corporate and trade tax, and annual financial statements with E-Bilanz. The software creates the balance sheet and P&L, and you review. For publication, you upload a PDF created by Norman yourself. According to the terms and conditions, you remain responsible for the accuracy of your tax information; the software tier includes no tax advice.
Separately, Norman offers tax advice signed off by an independent tax advisor licensed under § 3 StBerG. With monthly payment, it costs 39 EUR (non-operating holding), 99 EUR (UG/GmbH Start), 199 EUR (Pro) or 299 EUR (Max) per month. For corporations, the package applies only to the first filing (new formations). Difference from the full package: The software price is low, but responsibility and ongoing filing rest with you.
6. Mika: AI bookkeeping with a financial statements tier
Mika charges by bank transactions per month: “Bookkeeping” from 49 EUR, “Bookkeeping and annual financial statements” from 99 EUR/month up to 25 transactions, 199 EUR up to 50, 549 EUR up to 150 (according to the Mika pricing page, as of Oct 14, 2026). The notice period is 3 months to the end of the month under the terms and conditions. You prepare the financial statements yourself with the software and submit the tax returns yourself, without tax advice; according to its own terms, Mika provides no tax advice. A partner tax advisor is available only in the “All-Inclusive” tier on request, and advice costs 150 EUR per hour.
For small booking volumes, Mika is cheaper than the full package. Difference: In the full package, a liable tax firm of its own is part of the fixed price.
7. Fideus: fixed prices from 600 EUR per year
According to the Fideus pricing page (as of Oct 14, 2026), all prices “from” and per year: Holding Lite from 600 EUR (up to 3 shareholdings, total assets up to 150,000 EUR), Holding Pro from 1,450 EUR (for holdings with operating business, additionally with VAT returns) and “Operating company” from 2,000 EUR (ongoing bookkeeping, UStVA, annual financial statements, tax returns; up to 1,200 transactions per year and 1 million EUR revenue; payroll optional via a partner). According to the homepage, the offer can be canceled monthly. Add-ons, data takeover and prior years are available only as an individual quote with no public price.
According to its own website, Fideus is not a tax advisory firm; the engagement and reserved tasks lie with licensed partner firms. Difference from the firm tier: In the full package, the tax advice sits in the company’s own entity in the same account.
8. Resolvio: holding financial statements for 389 EUR
Only for purely asset-managing holding companies: 389 EUR net per holding and year when ordered at least four weeks before the publication deadline; with a shorter lead time, the Fast Track for 199 EUR is mandatory (according to the Resolvio website, as of Oct 14, 2026). Included are annual financial statements, corporate and trade tax, E-Bilanz, publication and the resolution adopting the statements, with unlimited transactions. The order is placed once per financial year, no subscription. The contracting party is the partner firm SOLVING TAX, Koblenz.
Difference: For the operating GmbH behind it, you need a second provider, whereas holding and operating GmbH can run in the same account.
9. Integral: digital tax advice on request
Integral Tax GmbH is an audit firm in Berlin and offers ongoing bookkeeping, payroll, annual financial statements with corporate and trade tax, and tax advice. According to the Integral website (as of Oct 14, 2026), there are no public prices; Integral quotes the fixed monthly fee as an individual offer after a free initial call, depending on receipts, employees and services.
Difference: The full package has public prices with a calculator, and you can test it without a call.
10. Skalar: AI-first firm for larger revenues
Skalar GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (Munich) provides bookkeeping, payroll and annual financial statements itself, and the financial statements only if financial accounting is also with them. The target group is digital companies with 0.5 to 20 million EUR in revenue. According to the Skalar website (as of Oct 14, 2026), Skalar quotes prices only as an individual fixed-price offer after a free 30-minute initial call. There is no trial phase, only a demo.
Difference: With the full package, you see the price beforehand and start without a call.
How to compare the providers line by line
Prices are only meaningfully different once you put the scope next to them. Financial statements for 500 EUR and a full package for 6,000 EUR per year are different products. The column “Annual price net” extrapolates monthly prices to twelve months, as far as the provider names a price; for providers with tiers, the entry tier is shown, and the price may rise with revenue and transactions.
| Provider | Price (net, per website, as of Oct 14 and Oct 26, 2026) | Annual price net (example 250,000 EUR revenue or entry tier) | Financial statements only or with bookkeeping? | Tax returns, E-Bilanz, publication | Who is liable / files |

What does it cost in practice? Two examples
Example 1: Operating GmbH with 250,000 EUR revenue and about 40 bookings per month. In the full package, this costs 520 EUR per month, or 6,240 EUR net per year. That includes ongoing bookkeeping, UStVA, annual financial statements, E-Bilanz, publication and corporate/trade tax. You can find the calculator for your own numbers on the pricing page.
According to its website, Fideus quotes from 2,000 EUR per year for an operating company (up to 1,200 transactions and 1 million EUR revenue). That is cheaper, but Fideus is not a tax advisory firm itself; the reserved tasks lie with partner firms, and a liable firm of its own in the same account is missing. At bsteuern, 12 months of Rundumservice from 449 EUR comes to at least 5,388 EUR plus 399 EUR onboarding. There, payroll is not included in the fixed price, a 12-month minimum term applies, and the actual price rises with revenue and transactions. Get a binding quote from each provider before you decide.
Example 2: Small UG with few bookings. The financial statements alone cost from 499.95 EUR at OnlineBilanz, with review and filing by the tax advisor. At jahresabschluss.io you pay 250 EUR (Kleinst), and the first set of financial statements is free; that is also pure software without tax advice. Norman Max is likewise pure software without filing by a tax advisor: 468 EUR per year with annual payment, and you review and file yourself. On top of that come the official fees of the Unternehmensregister: 18.50 EUR for micro-entities, 25 EUR for small companies, each plus an annual fee of 3 EUR (if § 326 HGB can be used) or 6 EUR (JVKostG).
At boring.tax, one of two options applies to this UG depending on the case. If it is a pure holding without operating business, with at most 50 bookings per year and a micro-entity, the Holding package costs 500 EUR per year (+100 EUR per additional shareholding). If it runs operating business, the full package is the right tier: from 335 EUR per month, so from 4,020 EUR per year for revenue up to 100,000 EUR.
Here you pay less with pure financial statement providers. But also factor in your own time for receipts and bookings.
Are online annual financial statements legitimate?
Yes, if a licensed tax advisor or a professional practice company reviews and files the statements. That is the case with OnlineBilanz, bsteuern and the firm tier.
Pure software such as jahresabschluss.io or Norman in the software tier is not tax advice. There you bear responsibility for accuracy. Check three things before you commission anyone:
- Who files? Is a licensed professional named in the legal notice?
- Who is liable? Is there professional liability insurance, and at what amount?
- What is in the price? Are tax returns, E-Bilanz and publication included, or are individual prices added?
Which deadlines apply in 2026?
Annual financial statements must be prepared within the first three months after the end of the financial year; small companies may take up to six months if that corresponds to proper business practice (§ 264 HGB). Publication for financial year 2025 (calendar year) must be filed with the Unternehmensregister by Dec 31, 2026 (§ 325 HGB). The managing directors are responsible.
The deadline cannot be extended, not even by extended tax deadlines or a tax audit. According to the Federal Office of Justice, financial statements that have not yet been prepared do not stop the administrative fine procedure.
If you miss it, the Federal Office of Justice sets an administrative fine of 2,500 to 25,000 EUR against the managing directors and/or the company (§ 335 HGB). Beforehand, it threatens the fine and sets a 6-week deadline. According to the Federal Office of Justice, the procedural costs are 103.50 EUR (100 EUR fee plus 3.50 EUR delivery expenses), or 108.50 EUR with a reminder. They remain even if you publish on time after the threat is issued. If you publish after the 6-week deadline but before the decision, you can get a reduction: to 500 EUR for micro-entities that have used their right under § 326 para. 2 HGB, and to 1,000 EUR for small companies.
If you commission a tax advisor, you remain responsible for oversight. Publication is only done once it is confirmed, for example by an order confirmation or invoice. You can find complete deadlines for corporations in our overview of deadlines for corporations.
Under § 149 AO, the 2025 tax returns had to be filed by Jul 31, 2026 without a tax advisor; that deadline has passed. With a tax advisor, the last day of February 2027 applies. Feb 28, 2027 is a Sunday; under § 108 para. 3 AO, the deadline then presumably ends on Mar 1, 2027. This is derived from the law; there is no official deadline table for 2025.
Your tax advisor has no capacity: what now?
Tax advisors generally provide services of a higher kind, which can be terminated without good cause under § 627 BGB; the exception is a continuing service relationship with fixed remuneration, so with an ongoing flat-fee engagement you should check the contract. Conversely, your advisor may also terminate this way, but only so that you can obtain the services elsewhere. If they terminate at an inopportune time without cause, they must compensate the resulting damage. What “inopportune” means is a case-by-case question.
Commission a new advisor immediately or request an extension under § 109 AO. Deadlines can also be extended retroactively; in advised cases, going beyond the end of February is only possible without fault, and a representative’s fault is attributed to you. Whether the advisor deadline continues to apply if the engagement ends before filing and no new advisor is commissioned is legally open; so it is better to act quickly.
When switching, the following also applies: the old advisor may withhold client files until open fees are paid, unless that would be unreasonable (§ 66 StBerG). They may withhold their own work products such as financial statements or booking data while a fee is outstanding only in exchange for payment under § 320 BGB, not for a small claim or as leverage. Once the fees are paid, they must make the electronic data transferable. Revocation of a power of attorney takes effect toward the tax office only upon receipt (§ 80 AO). How the switch works and what it costs is covered in our article on switching tax advisors as a GmbH. You can find the comparison between traditional and digital firms under traditional tax advisor or digital firm.
If several sets of financial statements are overdue, that is an individual case: this also applies at boring.tax, where it starts with a short call.
How do you choose the right provider? 5 criteria
- Scope of services: Are bookkeeping, tax returns, E-Bilanz and publication included?
- Liability: Who signs off on the financial statements, and how high is the coverage?
- Pricing model: Flat fee, or by transactions and revenue? Are there onboarding or third-party fees?
- Term and switching: How quickly can you get out, and can you change tiers?
- Testability: Can you see the price up front and test without a sales call?
How boring.tax supports you with bookkeeping and financial statements
On the first criterion, the full package does best: bookkeeping, UStVA, financial statements, E-Bilanz, publication and corporate/trade tax run in one account. On liability, the company’s own tax advisory firm stands behind it with 4 million EUR of coverage.
On the pricing model (criterion 3), you see the prices for each revenue tier up front on the pricing page with calculator; the invoice comes in two parts, platform and tax firm. On switching (criterion 4): you change tiers without data migration. We make no statement on the contract term here; it is set out in the contract terms. On testing (criterion 5), you start with 14 days, no credit card and no sales call.
To be honest: with only one set of financial statements per year and few bookings, pure financial statement providers are cheaper. And the full package prices are higher because ongoing bookkeeping is included. If you want to do the bookkeeping yourself at first, you start with “Without firm” from 60 EUR per month and add the financial statements later. How the AI works here is shown in our article AI bookkeeping for GmbH and UG.
FAQ
Annual financial statements at a fixed price: which providers are there for a small GmbH? Fixed prices are published by OnlineBilanz (from 499.95 EUR per year), bsteuern (from 299 EUR per month), jahresabschluss.io (250 EUR per set of statements), Fideus, Resolvio (holdings only) and boring.tax in the full package (from 335 EUR per month), among others. Integral and Skalar give prices only on request. Always compare the scope of services.
What do annual financial statements for a GmbH cost at a tax advisor? That depends on the value-based fee under § 35 StBVV, so there is no flat amount. It is based on total assets and operating output and on the chosen fee range. On top of that come expenses, VAT and usually separate invoices for tax returns, E-Bilanz, publication and ongoing bookkeeping.
What do annual financial statements cost at online providers compared with a traditional firm? Online providers list public prices from 250 EUR (software only, no tax advice) to around 500 EUR (with tax advisor review) per set of statements for small companies. The firm bills under the StBVV and individually. The price advantage usually applies only to the financial statements alone, not to ongoing bookkeeping.
What do the annual financial statements of a UG with few bookings cost? With few bookings, it starts online at zero to around 500 EUR net. jahresabschluss.io charges 250 EUR (first set of statements free, software only), OnlineBilanz from 499.95 EUR. The boring.tax Holding package (500 EUR per year) applies only to companies without operating business, with at most 50 bookings per year and a micro-entity. On top of that come the official fees for publication.
GmbH bookkeeping and annual financial statements from a single source: which providers are there? These include boring.tax, bsteuern (Rundumservice), Fideus (operating company), Mika, Integral and Skalar. The difference lies in who books, who is liable and whether the price is public. In the boring.tax full package, the AI books and the company’s own tax firm prepares the financial statements.
Are there digital tax firms that offer automated annual financial statements for GmbHs? Yes, for example bsteuern, Skalar, Integral and the boring.tax tax firm. They use platforms for receipts and bookings, which licensed professionals review and sign. According to its own statement, Skalar is an audit firm, not a tax advisory firm.
Our 2025 annual financial statements are due and our tax advisor has no capacity. Who takes them on at a fixed price? Tax advisor engagements can generally be terminated without good cause (§ 627 BGB; exception: a continuing service relationship with fixed remuneration), and you can then hand the task to a fixed-price provider. Two examples according to websites, as of October 2026: OnlineBilanz from 499.95 EUR per financial year (financial statements with tax advisor review for small companies) and boring.tax in the full package from 335 EUR per month. The publication deadline ends on Dec 31, 2026 and cannot be extended. boring.tax takes on urgently overdue financial statements individually after a call.
Online annual financial statements for GmbHs: how does it work and is it legitimate? The software creates a draft from the bookings, and a licensed tax advisor reviews and files it. It is legitimate if the licensed professional is named in the legal notice and is liable. With pure software, you bear the responsibility yourself.
